It is the second most taught language in schools after English, and a the working language of organizations such as the United Nations, the International Olympic Committee, and UNICEF among many others. Canada is also the second largest trade partner with the U.S., and French/English bilinguals are in demand for companies working with French-speaking partners in Canada.
